WWF felicitates YEDDYURAPPA on “EARTH HOUR”
The president of WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) Mr. Yolanda has praised the government of Karnataka, particularly the chief minister Yediyurappa’s regime for observing the “earth hour” on daily basis. The president Yolanda kakabadse (who is certainly not from Reddy’s group) has decided to felicitate chief minister on Saturday 26th march, when whole world is going to celebrate “earth hour” between 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.

But in Karnataka since last one month government has made it mandatory to observe the earth hours daily to raise awareness towards climate change. The government is keen on taking out electric supply for at least 2-3 hours daily in almost all the major cities of the state. This move is helping not only global cause of climate change but also has initiated a political change for state welfare cause now. Though the “earth hour” calls for turning off only non essential lights, the government of Karnataka feels that regular power supply itself is non- essential to the state and hence they are contributing to the global cause of climate change regularly. The chief minister is likely to be felicitated during his next visit to Delhi (to sort out dissident activity) and no doubt the irregular power supply minister of Karnataka Kum.Shobha Karandlaje will also be accompanying him for felicitation.
