SONIA CUTS “Andhra Cake”- Parties split and MLAs quit
December 9, 2009
Hyderabad: Congress president Sonia Gandhi unilaterally decided to carve out a separate state of Telangana on Wednesday late night. Celebrating her 64th birthday with home minister P.Chidambaram she divided the cake of united Andhra Pradesh without consulting opposition and her own local party leaders at Andhra Pradesh. After all why she should consult? It is her birthday, her cake and her party. But coming days are not going to be cake walk for congress government in Andhra Pradesh. Already this news has created waves in political parties in Andhra Pradesh with as many as 60 legislators and three MLCs from the Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Praja Rajya Party submitting their resignation to the Speaker. The MLAs have strongly opposed the congress high command’s “unilateral decision” to initiate the process for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The Centre’s decision to give separate Telangana is being described as a gift given by Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. Is the state of Andhra Pradesh a cake to be cut into pieces and distributed? If yes, then who should have the cherry (Hyderabad)? Telangana or Andra Pradesh?
This has to be answered by the people of Andhra Pradesh now, who voted congress overwhelmingly in the last assembly election. A man fasts for 11 days and gets new state declaration within Andhra Pradesh. And once this trend starts in India, these politicians will give birth to one or two states every year depending upon their political capacity and no doubt Sonia Gandhi will be mother of many states as central government is at her disposal to deliver whatever she wants.
Now just have look at the upcoming states in India – Harit Pradesh or kisan Pradesh from western Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra from Gujarat, Bhojpur from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Bundelkhand state from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Gorkhaland state out of Darjeeling and west Bengal, Mithilanchal in Bihar and Coorg in Karnataka. Except Kashmir out of India all other new states may exist. Thanks to congress government which is changing India to United State of India and to the people who voted for Sonia Gandhi, a mother of two children and many states.
