WASHINGTON: Obama became first U.S president to celebrate deepavali in white house by lighting lamp amidst chanting of Vedic mantras to seek the world peace. Later he declared triple bonus to Pakistan on this auspicious occasion by signing the 

bill tripling the aid (so called non-military) for the next five years. In his remarks he said diwali is a festival of light and it is the occasion to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. He signed an aid to Pakistan to about $7.5 billion for the next five years to light ‘diyas’ across the line of control and crack the crackers in India. He also said deepavali is festival of celebrating victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Obama seems to be ignorant of knowledge that Pakistan will be using this aid to military purpose and to support the extremist groups who are targeting India. US made it clear to the Pakistan that it is not interested in micro management of Pakistan’s civilian and military affairs and the aid is for the support of Pakistan’s democratic institutions and for the people of Pakistan. Now the question is whether there are any democratic institutions in Pakistan? Why Barack Obama is acting ignorant on the day when we are celebrating the victory of knowledge over ignorance? Why he is supporting the evil over good on this auspicious occasion? Dear Mr. President, you should lead the world from the unreal to the real, from darkness to light, from death to liberation (asatoma sadgamaya) Wish u very happy diwali. “Om shanti shanti shanti hi.”
