Hyderabad: The central government’s decision to divide united Andhra Pradesh has shocked the people of Andhra and surprised the local naxalites. It was unilateral decision by congress president Sonia Gandhi along with home minister P.Chidambaram. Even the local Andhra congress is not in agreement with this decision and already agitation are roaring across Andhra Pradesh. In Andhra Pradesh, the naxalite movement that ravaged the state at one point has weakened in recent years. Thanks to the good governance by late Rajshekar Reddy.  The whole world knows that TRS has been supported by naxalites right from the beginning of the Telangana movement but fortunately both TRS and naxalites were well curbed under Rajshekar Reddy’s regime. Now this sudden hunger strike drama and declaration by Central government for carving state out of Andhra Pradesh has given life not only to the Telangana admirers but also to the Naxalites.

Now what will naxalites do if the Telangana state is formed and TRS forms the government? TRS has been its political face for the many years. Is it not a victory of naxalites who were about to vanish from the surface of Andhra Pradesh? Why such drastic decision was taken by congress central government? It is the time for the people of Andhra Pradesh to unite and fight for the united Andhra and at any point of time they should not allow formation of Telangana state. Now the naxalites seems to be more than happy along with TRS and they have already thanked Sonia Gandhi for her overwhelming support for Telangana. Even they are ready for bilateral discussions with central government. And they are likely to present the fresh demands of naxalites in front of her as she seems to be more obliging to the naxalites. Why not, Sonia should go ahead with fulfilling their demands. Give lands to farmers, release the political prisoners from jail, withdraw cases against naxalites and swap the prisoners if required. After all Telangana is her baby. She is free to do whatever she wants. Who dares her? One thing is true what naxalites violence can’t do that hunger strike did. Is it not gandhigiri?
