DYNASTY POLITICS: IS IT INDIA’S DESTINY?

HUBLI: Once again the ‘dynasty politics’ has become an issue in India and as expected it is BJP which is crying foul every time. Unfortunately rests of Indian democratic parties are running with their own dynasty. India being one of the biggest world’s democratic countries has never come out of this ‘dynasty politics’. Dynastic politics isn’t a new phenomenon in Indian politics, but it has become an increasingly wide-reaching one in recent times. Almost every political party has leaders whose sons and daughters have entered politics, most of them without much political experience. Once times of India had quoted that “India is a democracy of dynasties, for dynasties and by dynasties”. This has been the case with Congress all through the post-Independence era. It started with Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi to Rajiv Gandhi to Sonia Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi.

One can understand if this happens in business segments like TATA passing his empire to junior TATA and BATA to BATA. It is their inherited business and even to do that they see the capacity of their next generation or they make them capable of handling such empire. Vijay Kirloskar worked as senior engineer in the beginning and he took years to become CMD of Kirloskar electric, such was the training by his father Ravi Kirloskar. You just can’t become doctor because your mother is gynecologist and your father is cardiologist. You have to pass Pre-University science course first and then many medical examinations before you become either gynecologist or cardiologist. If you start practicing doctor ship without any qualification and just because your parents are doctors then you will make mortuary of the clinic. Even cobbler’s son has to learn to become successful cobbler. But unfortunately we don’t look at the experience and the capacity of the persons to rule the nation before electing them. India is being run by the Gandhi family as if India is their private limited company. Even the congress party is also run by the same family. But who gives any shit about who runs congress party as long as their impotent members are not bothered. But India being run like corporate company by corporate Gandhi family is not at all acceptable. ‘Gandhi’ is not a political brand that the people of this nation should keep endorsing. Let the congress party accept it as their brand and be loyal to it but not the country. Just because your great grandfather was the first prime minister of India that does not means that you should also become prime minister of India. No doubt the people of India have voted for you and the unpatriotic members of your party have elected you as their leader that does not means that your family members should be in power all the time. Why should we call it as democracy if the only family keeps ruling the party and nation all the time? Is India a kingdom and gandhians are the rulers of this kingdom? It is for the people of India who have voted for congress and who have accepted them as their leaders to answer. It is for the people of this nation to decide what should be the destiny of the nation. Especially the youth of India who keep comparing India with western countries need to change their mind set and realize what the problem with India is. And should realize what could be the destiny of the nation under this dynasty politics. Let us act fast before our grand children read in their history book about gandhians like kadambas, chalukyas, moguls, mauryas etc.etc. And the future generation will refer to Sonia Gandhi as “once upon a time there was queen in India who hailed from Italy and her family ruled the nation…bla..bla..bla….” Is it what we want the destiny of our country to be? Shame on us if we don’t act now.
