Copenhagen: As expected the world leaders struggled to reach the climate deal despite some dramatic changes in the end. No doubt these leaders have left a big, fat carbon foot in the process of reaching the deal. The whole summit has emitted around 47000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere during its 12 day conference. Needless to say 90% is from flights. The rest comes from waste and electricity related to transport to and from the conference centre and lodging in and around the Danish city. Most of the leaders were flying either on commercial airlines or government-owned jets. Most are doing nothing to boost their green credentials and some saw no reason to treat their trip to the UN climate talks any differently. Read the rest of this entry »

Hubli: The outlook magazine editor-in-chief Vinod Mehta has written a special article on News being sold for money. He has shown his concern for ‘paid for news’ as if he is ethical journalist who has enlightened just day before yesterday. The whole India knows that journalism is being sold since almost all decade in India. It is not some thing which is new. Everybody including politicians is using it rather buying it according to their requirement. Even Vinod Mehta’s honesty towards the journalism is questionable as he is/was congress loyal. In Andhra Pradesh, the naxalite movement that ravaged the state at one point has weakened in recent years. Thanks to the good governance by late Rajshekar Reddy. The whole world knows that TRS has been supported by naxalites right from the beginning of the Telangana movement but fortunately both TRS and naxalites were well curbed under Rajshekar Reddy’s regime. London/Rome: Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has introduced legislation that will make it illegal for girls under 18 to have breast enhancement or other plastic surgery. According his advisor for Environmental science these enlarged Plastic boobs exhale more amount of carbon dioxide than the normal boobs. European Union is stressing for reduction in carbon emission in “climate change summit” at Copenhagen and in order to meet the carbon cut target Italian prime minister has taken this drastic step of reducing the size of young boobs. According to the latest figures available more than 10,000 teenage girls had surgery known as “boob Job” in 2008. Officials want to clamp down on the growing number of cases where unauthorized and authorized surgeons have caused problems with botched operations or sub standard silicon implants. The scientists feel that these silicon boobs inhale more oxygen and hence in turn they exhale more carbon dioxide. According to statistics from the Italian Society of Plastic Surgeons there are around 85,000 breast enhancement operations a year in Italy, of which 70 per cent are for aesthetic reasons. The new law will definitely reduce not only the size of young Italian girl’s boobs but Read the rest of this entry »

Mumbai: A lone surviving terrorist of 26/11 Mumbai attack Ajmal Kasab has started fearing MNS ever since he has heard that Maharashtra State MLA has been attacked by MNS MLAs inside the Assembly hall for not taking oath in Marathi. If the elected legislator can be slapped inside the Assembly then what could be his fate, after all he is the bloody terrorist who attacked the very core India and that is also in Maharashtra. Since then , Kasab, a fourth standard dropout of an Urdu medium school, has been keenly observing the proceedings and picked up bits of Marathi as witnesses, lawyers and the judge speak in these languages although the evidence is recorded in English. And other day when the court staff asked him about whether he has fever, he said “Nahin, Nahin, Taap Nahin (No, No, I don’t have fever),” so he conveyed the message to MNS people that indeed he is learning Marathi and expects at least less punishment less from Marathi manus. Hyderabad: Congress president Sonia Gandhi unilaterally decided to carve out a separate state of Telangana on Wednesday late night. Celebrating her 64th birthday with home minister P.Chidambaram she divided the cake of united Andhra Pradesh without consulting opposition and her own local party leaders at Andhra Pradesh. After all why she should consult? It is her birthday, her cake and her party. But coming days are not going to be cake walk for congress government in Andhra Pradesh. Already this news has created waves in political parties in Andhra Pradesh with as many as 60 legislators and three MLCs from the Congress, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Praja Rajya Party submitting their resignation to the Speaker. The MLAs have strongly opposed the congress high command’s “unilateral decision” to initiate the process for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The Centre’s decision to give separate Telangana is being described as a gift given by Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. Is the state of Andhra Pradesh a cake to be cut into pieces and distributed? If yes, then who should have the cherry (Hyderabad)? Telangana or Andra Pradesh? Read the rest of this entry »
Hubli / London: A British man who said he strangled his wife during a nightmare about fighting off an intruder has been found innocent in her death. Prosecutors had originally asked a jury to find Brian Thomas not guilty by reason of insanity, which could see him sent to a psychiatric hospital. But they withdrew the case against him on Friday, and said expert opinion was that hospitalization was not appropriate. What a decision by London high court. Can you imagine what could have happened if some husband in India would have killed his wife in his sleep when his mind had no control over his actions? First the media under the leadership of Barkha Datta of NDTV and Sagarika Ghose of IBNLive would have launched debate and attack against whole husband kind of India. Read the rest of this entry »
